About the Tour
Few tours from Marrakech head south-west first. You go to Essaouira, follow the Atlantic down to Sidi Ifni, a quiet seaside town with Spanish-era buildings, and then turn into the Anti-Atlas, where Tafraoute sits among pink granite boulders and almond trees.
From Taroudant you cross to the desert for a night in the Erg Chigaga dunes, and return to Marrakech through Ouarzazate.

How the seven days go, from your pickup in Marrakech to the drop-off.
Day 1 · Marrakech to Essaouira
A three-hour drive west through the argan country to Essaouira, with the afternoon free in the medina and by the harbour.

Day 2 · Essaouira to Sidi Ifni
South along the coast past Agadir to Sidi Ifni, with stops at the beaches and cliffs on the way.

Day 3 · Sidi Ifni to Tafraoute
Inland into the Anti-Atlas by mountain roads to Tafraoute, with time in the Ameln valley and among the painted rocks.

Over the passes of the Anti-Atlas to the Souss valley and the walled town of Taroudant.

Is there a lot of driving?
Most days have four to six hours on the road, with stops. The day from Taroudant into the desert is the longest.
What is the desert camp like?
You sleep in a tent at a camp in the dunes, with dinner and breakfast. Camps range from simple to comfortable tents with a private bathroom; tell us the level you want and we suggest camps that fit.
What should I pack?
Light clothes for the day, a warm layer for the desert night, a hat, sun cream and a small bag for the camp. Your main luggage stays in the vehicle.
Can we change the route or the hotels?
Yes. We can add nights, change hotels or swap the order of the stops, since only your group is on the tour. Tell us what you have in mind when you enquire.
