Our Morocco honeymoon package gives the two of you twelve days in Marrakech and the desert. You start with two slow days in a riad, cross the mountains to the Draa Valley, spend three nights at a luxury camp in Erg Chigaga and come back to Marrakech for the last three nights.

A luxury Morocco honeymoon for two

Driving days are kept short wherever the map allows. You stop for the night at Aït Benhaddou and again in a kasbah in Agdz, so you reach the dunes rested, with the whole evening ahead.

At the camp we ask for a tent set apart from the others, with dinner served on your terrace. On the way out you cross Lake Iriki late in the day, with the sun low over the dry lake bed, and sleep near Ouarzazate before the last drive home.

Day-by-day itinerary

How the 12 days go, from your pickup in Marrakech to the drop-off.

Day 1 · Arrival in Marrakech

Airport pickup and the drive to your riad.

Day 2 · Marrakech

A late breakfast, a hammam and massage in the afternoon, and dinner on a roof terrace above the medina.

Day 3 · Marrakech to Aït Benhaddou

Over the Tizi n’Tichka pass with a stop at the Telouet kasbah, then down the Ounila valley.

Day 4 · Aït Benhaddou to Agdz

A short morning drive past Ouarzazate and over the Tizi n’Tinifift. In the afternoon, walk in the palm grove or visit the old Tamnougalt kasbah.

Day 5 · Agdz to Erg Chigaga

Down the Draa Valley through Zagora and Tamegroute to M’hamid, then by 4×4 to the camp.

Day 6 · Erg Chigaga

Sunrise from the dunes, a camel ride and a free afternoon.

Day 7 · Erg Chigaga

A second free day at camp.

Day 8 · Lake Iriki to Ouarzazate

A late start, then the crossing of Lake Iriki in the afternoon and on through Foum Zguid and Tazenakht.

Day 9 · Ouarzazate to Marrakech

Over the High Atlas, back in Marrakech by mid-afternoon.

Day 10 · Marrakech

A free day.

Day 11 · Marrakech

A free day.

Day 12 · Departure

Transfer to Marrakech airport.

Pickup points

We pick you up at your riad or hotel in Marrakech at the time you choose. If your riad is in a lane cars cannot enter, the driver waits at the nearest square or gate and someone from the riad walks you there.

Best time to go

October to April is the most comfortable time. Days are warm and nights cool, and in December and January the desert can drop close to freezing at night. From June to August the afternoons are very hot, so we start early and rest in the middle of the day.

What to bring

Layers, with a warm jacket for the desert night from November to March; a hat, sunglasses and sun cream; a scarf against wind and sand; shoes you can walk in on sand; a head torch; a small bag for the camp night, since your main luggage stays in the vehicle; cash in dirhams for drinks and tips; a power bank.

Price, deposit and cancellation

Price on request

Prices are per person and depend on the size of your group. You book with a 20% deposit by card or PayPal and pay the balance on the first day of the tour.

If you cancel 30 days or more before the start, we refund the deposit in full; after that the deposit is kept. You can change the date once for free if you ask 14 days or more before. The details are in our Cancellation Policy.

Can you add something special for a honeymoon?

Yes. Tell us what you would like, such as a private dinner in the dunes, a hammam or flowers in the room, and we arrange it with the riad or the camp.

What is the best month for a Morocco honeymoon?

April, May, October and November have warm days and mild nights in both Marrakech and the desert.

Can we have a private dinner at the camp?

Luxury camps in Erg Chigaga can usually serve dinner at your tent or on a dune near the camp. We ask when we book.

Can we finish on the coast?

Yes. We can replace the last Marrakech days with two nights in Essaouira, three hours away.

What is a luxury camp like?

Large tents with proper beds and a private bathroom with a shower. Dinner and breakfast are served at the camp. Tell us if you have a camp in mind and we check availability.

Can we change the route or the hotels?

Yes. We can add nights, change hotels or swap the order of the stops, since only your group is on the tour. Tell us what you have in mind when you enquire.

How do I book?
